Shitsugyou Teate 失業手当

If you haven't found your next workplace and if you need to apply for Shitsugyou Teate 失業手当 (unemployment insurance allowance), you need to visit Hello Work and submit "3. Rishoku Hyou 離職票".  If you leave the company for your own reasons, you need to wait for certain period (generally about 3 months) before starting receiving Shitsugyou Teate.

Important things to remember

A. Please talk with your current company HR about what you need to do for your residential tax, health insurance and pension.  In some cases, you need to visit your city hall and to pay these by yourself after leaving the company.

B. If there is a gap between the current company and the new company, you might need to enroll in national health insurance and national pension.  And of course, you need to pay residential tax, health insurance and pension by yourself.

C. Even if you join the new company right after leaving the former one, the new company might not enroll you in Shakai Hoken until the probation period is over.  So, it is important to know when you will get Shakai Hoken.

D. If you have been waiting for Permanent Residency application result, you need to submit additional documents.  What documents to submit depends on your situations.  Please contact your Gyouseishoshi if you have hired one, or contact us if you applied on your own.  If you fail to report or miss any payments, your PR application is likely to be rejected.

E. If you have applied for Permanent Residency as an HSP point holder, you need to make sure that you keep your HSP points due to the workplace changes.

F. Working visa may be revoked if you are jobless for 3 months or longer according to the immigration law.
